Revolution or evolution: Technology taking over?

Life before man was perfect; everything ran in unison with all living things complementing each other to create Earth.

This pre-human life was balanced perfectly so that nothing living could outshine anything else living.

But with the birth of the modern man and conscientious thought, we seemed to take a step backward from evolution.

We see man today using and abusing the world’s resources with no regard to humanity or the world as a whole. It seems as though today we are no longer living as a part of Earth, but as if Earth and everything living are our enemy.

We ravage our rainforests of the lush green trees for personal gain. And at what cost? There will come a time when the trees are all gone and we will have no oxygen to sustain life, and with that knowledge, we still continue the killing.

If life’s purpose is to connect with the Earth and all of its living things, then why do we continue to make innovations to our electronic technology?

Today we see kids trading in their baseball bats and footballs for technology such as the internet, cell phones, television, and video games.

And studies have shown that children who play with electronics excessively have worse grades and their brains perform slower than children raised without television.

When you watch television, you aren’t using your brain.

And if you don’t use it, you lose it.

So essentially, the power button turns on and our brains turn off. We are slaves to these electronics.

Someday in the future, near or far, we will develop a computer that can think for itself and can act freely.

Just as modern man developed a conscience, so will this new technology.

And when this happens, we will have no purpose on earth and thus become nothing more than a long lost statistic.
