Helping environment hurts your wallet

An electric start? More like an electric stop.

Some cars are going electric, with the trend of being eco-friendly and sky-rocketing gas prices. But at what cost?

Electric cars can cost up to $110,000 and not everyone can drop that kind of money. That cost is almost equal to two good working gasoline cars.

Drivers also have to consider damage charges that might come up. How many fix it quick electric mechanic shops are there? Let’s add this up: $ 110,000 on one single car, plus possible damages and not a lot of findable mechanic shops for this one single car. Sums up to a bunch of money wasted.

Pursuing this further mileage is a bigger issue to understand. How far do these magical “electric cars” actually go? A whopping max of about 100 miles for any average electric car, and that is if people charge the car completely.

After 100 miles of driving, they’d have to stop and recharge the car for 12 hours at least. That is probably a longer time than most people would like to waste just to drive a bit and then have to recharge the car again.

There needs to be a better option. “Hybrid” is that big flashing word in my mind. Hybrid cars are more eco-friendly than just gasoline, but not as much of a hassle like all electric cars.

Why pay the money, especially in this economy and time needed for an electric car? If being eco-friendly is so important, buy a hybrid.
