Northtown T-shirt-ten dollars, sunflower seeds- a dollar fifty, hot dog- one dollar, coming to watch Northtown baseball games- priceless.
It was officially spring when the Hornets stepped up to the mound against the Warriors of St. Pius on March 21. Despite a 12-9 Warriors victory, the boys are optimistic about this year’s season.
Yeah we have a great group of guys who actually enjoy the game, so you know every night we’re going to go out and play to win,” junior Taylor Brooks said.
This year the team has three captains’ juniors Taylor Brooks and Zach Tyson and senior Sam Williams. All three played and worked out in the off season to prepare for the spring.
“During the summer I played in a lot of tournaments to keep me in shape and plus it was really good practice so when I play this season I won’t lose a beat,” junior Zach Tyson said.
Right now the Hornets are (1-5) with a key conference win over Ruskin
It’s pretty simple in order to make this season a success the hornets want to win as many games as possible.
“I think our team goals this year are to beat rivals like Oak Park and Winnetonka, win the Northland tournament so we develop some momentum going into districts, which if everything goes according to plan, we’ll win districts,” Tyson said.
