Not only is it a new year, but we have new teachers as well.
Mrs. Amanda Dolinger is one of the many new staff members; she has taken over NTV and is also one of the drama teachers.
She herself even went to Northtown, and is happy to be back. But she does find it different.
“I think part of why it’s so different is because I’m on the teacher side now; I’m no longer on the student side,” Dolinger said.
She was heavily involved in the arts when she attended Northtown, including theater, Harmonaires, a capella, along with NHS plays all four years.
Dolinger didn’t really see herself returning to Northtown when she was in high school.
However, “In college all I wanted was to come back and teach here!” she said.
Mr. Randy Jackson, Dolinger’s former teacher, said he is “excited” to be working alongside her.
An interesting fact you might not have known about Dolinger: she studied in London for a year.
Also, to future Dolinger students, she shares her advice about being a confident performer.
“Never apologize before performing!” she said. “Saying I’m sorry right before performing is not a way to go about it.”
