Looking for something to do this Thanksgiving break? Tired of eating turkey and stuffing? There are plenty of things to do over the holiday break, but going to the movies is always a popular choice.
There are many different movies coming out this year over Thanksgiving break and this is your guide to the best choices.
Tower Heist
Tower Heist stars Eddie Murphy, Casey Affleck, and Ben Stiller. Rated PG-13, the movie stars Stiller as Josh Kovacs, an uptight building manager of an expensive high-rise in Manhattan. Kovacs and his brother-in-law Charlie, (Affleck), lose lots of money in a scheme created by the building’s owner, Arthur Shaw. The men plan to steal their money back with the help of a criminal named Slide, played by Murphy. To find out if the plan works, you have to go see it! (Rated PG-13, released Nov. 4)

Immortals
Immortals stars Henry Cavill as Theseus, Mickey Rourke as King Hyperion, and Kellan Lutz as Poseidon. Taking place in Greece, this movie includes war and violence. King Hyperion (Rourke) sets out to find the legendary Epirus Bow, a weapon that will release the feared Titans so that Hyperion can rule all of Greece. The gods (Poseidon, Zeus, Athena, etc…) are powerless to stop Hyperion because ancient law forbids them to interfere with human conflicts. However, Zeus secretly trained a human man named Theseus (Cavill) for war and Theseus is the gods’ only hope to save mankind and themselves. A good action thriller, this movie is not intended for small children. (Rated R, released Nov. 11)

Jack and Jill
If you are looking for a family-friendly movie, Jack and Jill is a great choice this Thanksgiving. Jack and Jill stars Adam Sandler as Jack Sadelstein, a successful working man and a family man. However, Jack dreads one event every year: the Thanksgiving visit of his twin sister, Jill (also played by Sandler). Jill’s need to be in everyone’s business drives Jack crazy and this movie shows Jack’s struggle to deal with his sister in a funny fashion. (Rated PG, released Nov. 11)

Happy Feet Two
Another family-friendly movie to see this Thanksgiving is Happy Feet Two. The sequel to Happy Feet, this movie includes the voice talents of Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, and Elijah Wood. Mumble, a penguin who is the master of tap dancing, has a son named Erik. The only problem is that Erik is scared to dance. Embarrassed, Erik runs away and encounters The Mighty Sven- a flying penguin! Happy Feet Two is bound to be as cute as Happy Feet, so kids will enjoy it, especially in 3D. (Rated G, Released Nov. 18)

Breaking Dawn-Part 1
Everyone’s heard of the “Twilight” book series and this Thanksgiving, the second to last movie is being released. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 1 stars Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen, a vampire who has found his soul mate in human Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart. The couple gets married and takes a honeymoon on a private island owned by the Cullen family. Once on the island, Edward and Bella find out that Bella is pregnant and they return home to save Bella from the terrifying pregnancy that she is enduring. The movie also stars Taylor Lautner as Bella’s best friend, Jacob Black, who is part of an enemy clan of werewolves who do not like the Cullens. Along with Lautner, Pattinson, and Stewart, the movie also stars Kellan Lutz as Edward’s older brother, Emmett, and Ashley Greene as Bella’s best friend and Edward’s sister, Alice. (Rated PG-13, released Nov. 18)

Hugo
Hugo is included in the ongoing list of children’s movies being released this Thanksgiving. Hugo is about a young boy who seeks to unravel a mystery involving his dead father. Set in 1930’s Paris, Hugo lives in the walls of a train station, trying to understand how to fix a robot his father was working on before he died. Along the way, Hugo meets a friend who has the key on how to get the robot working. Starring Jude Law, Christopher Lee, and Chloe Moretz, this movie is one for the whole family. (Rated PG, releases Nov. 23)

The Muppets
Who doesn’t love the Muppets? This Thanksgiving, everyone can enjoy Kermit and his gang of friends as they try to save their theater. Three Muppet fans find out that a rich oil driller wants to drill under the Muppet Theater for oil, so the fans set out to reunite the Muppet gang. Along with Kermit and Miss Piggy, this movie also stars Jason Segel and Amy Adams as helpers of the Muppets. (Rated PG, Releases Nov. 23)
