Gaming on Valentines Day
Everyone has his or her own opinions about Valentines Day. Some people hate it, and some people love it. Regardless, I know something that can help you enjoy this controversial day more. Video Games improve everything in my opinion.
First, I shall explain how video games can help you enjoy Valentines Day if you don’t have a special someone to spend it with. First of all there is the escapist approach. Find a Video Game with a great story that completely pulls you in, and completely forget about all the cheesy stuff going on in the ‘real world’. For this I would suggest games such as the “Bioshock”, “The Walking Dead”, or “Skyrim”.
I understand how frustrating it can be when your single on Valentines Day and all you see are couples everywhere doing cute stuff for each other. When your friend is in a happy relationship and they start telling you about their plans for their Valentines, you know they don’t mean to, but it feels like they are just bragging about having someone to call theirs. The best way to release some of that frustration is to kill some zombies! Violent video games don’t create serial killers; they relieve stress, which is something everyone needs to do every now and again. Some good ways to work through the irritation of Valentines Day is to play some games like “Call of Duty”, “God of War”, or “The Punisher”.
Remember when valentines day just meant there was going to be a class party, little valentines day cards from all of your friends, and a bunch of heart shaped candies? A great way to deal with this mushy gushy holiday is to go back to the simpler times. Think back to when you were a little kid. Did you have any video games you just loved back then? If you did I say you should
Dig them up and enjoy yourself. Forget about romance and all that stuff that is connected to Valentines Day today, and focus on the things that made you happy when you were little.
You may be wondering ‘how can video games improve my Valentines Day? I already have plans’ but hear me out. If you have plans with your significant other on Valentines Day, what would be a better way to end the evening than a little gaming? This is just an idea, but I think sitting back and playing some mildly competitive game like “Mario Kart” or “Street Fighter” is a fun way to relax with the person you care about. Or maybe play a game with campaign together. Take turns playing and work through the story together. It’s a little thing, but it is really nice.
Maybe your boyfriend of girlfriend just is not a big gamer and doesn’t enjoy that kind of thing, that’s fine. But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy yourself some more after the date. If you just want to unwind and relax after the day of romance, video games are a great way to do it.
I hope this helps some people on the day of romance.
