Ms. Wright: “Teacher of the Year” Winner
Ms. Wright is a Freshman House ELA and American Lit. teacher here at North Kansas City. She has been teaching at NKC for 3 years but this is her first time being nominated and winning teacher of the year.
When asked what her favorite thing about Northtown is she said, “It’s a community like no other and it’s very diverse and there is no other school like this where so many students come from so many different cultures.”
Wright said, “I was shocked and didn’t really expect to win but had a overwhelming sense of joy in my heart” when learning that she was winner of teacher of the year at the assembly on Friday.
When asking some of her students, I learned that they like that she always makes learning fun, really tries to relate the things they are learning to their own lives, and always brings enthusiasm to class.
