A Race to Remember; The MBA’s heated MVP race
This years MVP race could be one of the best in recent years. As we enter the backend of the season and teams are fighting for playoff spots, the best players find a way to shine and help their team win. There are more than a handful of players that could make a case for MVP but there are four players who it will likely come down to.
The Warriors Stephen Curry may be in the lead for the MVP award, being the best player on the best team. Curry has just recently emerged as a superstar and household name but is on the verge of becoming the new face of the NBA.
The Rockets James Harden is as pure as scorers get. Leading the league in scoring and battling for third place in the western confrence without the Rockets all-star center Dwight Howard. Harden is winning games with a lot less help than most MVP candidates and is almost single handedly responsible for the rockets success.
The player who has put himself in the MVP discussion in what seems like a week is Russell Westbrook. He is leading the league in triple doubles and almost averaged a triple double in the month of February. The Thunder are currently fighting for a playoff spot so that could decide Westbrook’s MVP fate.
Owning 4 of the last 6 MVP’s LeBron James finds himself again in the discussion. LeBron started the season slow but has really started to pick it up helping the Cavaliers have one of the best records after the All-star break. This years MVP race will surely come down to the last week and will be one to remember.
